GAISSA at ICSE2025
Jul 24, 2025
Members of the GAISSA team actively participated in the International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) 2025, presenting multiple papers. The contributions covered key project themes, including a study on the adoption of green architectural tactics in ML systems and a paper on ensuring quality and energy efficiency in deep learning through MLOps practices.
The GAISSA team had a strong presence at the International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) 2025 and its co-located workshops, where members presented several new research papers.
Vincenzo De Martino presented two recent contributions. At the ICSE Software Engineering in Society (SEIS) track, he presented "Do Developers Adopt Green Architectural Tactics for ML-Enabled Systems? A Mining Software Repository Study," which explores the real-world adoption of green tactics in ML projects. At the WSESE workshop, he introduced "A Framework for Using LLMs for Repository Mining Studies in Empirical Software Engineering," detailing a new framework to support repository mining.
Santiago del Rey Juárez presented the paper "Addressing Quality Challenges in Deep Learning: The Role of MLOps and Domain Knowledge" at the International Conference on AI Engineering (CAIN). Co-authored with other GAISSA members, this work shares experiences in deploying a deep learning system while ensuring critical quality attributes, including correctness, time efficiency, and energy efficiency, through the use of MLOps and domain knowledge.
