Visit to the /rdlab data center & cloud.

Members of GAISSA recently had the opportunity to visit the installations of the /rdlab servers and High Performance Computing (HPC) system. The members of GAISSA: Dr. Silverio Martínez-Fernández, Francisco Durán, Joel Castaño, Diwa Vila and Alvaro Domingo, had an insightful experience exploring the system's capabilities.

During our visit, we learned about the CS department's High Performance Computing (HPC) system, which operates on a queue manager environment. This environment efficiently manages user requests and jobs by employing a queue scheduler that sorts and prioritizes tasks based on various criteria. These criteria include user quota, estimated execution time, RAM, and CPU cores.
