GAISSA Team Helps Shape Green AI Agenda at CECAM-Lorentz Workshop

In February 2025, members of the GAISSA project played a key role in the CECAM-Lorentz workshop on "Greening AI with Software Engineering." Held in Lausanne, Switzerland, the event brought together experts to shape the research agenda for sustainable AI, with team members organizing, moderating sessions, and presenting their work.
The GAISSA team was heavily involved in the CECAM-Lorentz workshop, “Greening AI with Software Engineering,” which took place from February 3-7, 2025, in Lausanne, Switzerland. The event aimed to build an interdisciplinary community and shape the future research agenda for sustainable AI.
Silverio Martínez-Fernández was one of the workshop's main organizers, helping to bring together leading researchers and industry professionals. The workshop focused on key topics directly aligned with the GAISSA project, such as adjusting the software lifecycle for Green AI, promoting carbon-aware development, and enhancing education in sustainable software engineering.
The team's participation was extensive. In addition to Silverio's organizing role, Alexandra González Álvarez and Joel Castaño Fernández gave presentations on their latest research. The event was filled with insightful discussions and collaborative sessions aimed at preparing a new research agenda for the community.
